24/7 AI answering · built for plumbing shops

You can’t answer the phone from a crawlspace.

Anvilcall answers 24/7, takes the message, screens the tire kickers, and texts you a summary — so the job never goes to the next guy on Google.

The demo takes your worst customer — try to break it. No sales call — unless you want one.

Water heaters don’t fail at a polite hour.

A water heater replacement runs $1,800–$4,500, and the call comes at 2 AM or not at all. At typical plumbing tickets ($300–500 for service), the agent costs about a dozen answered calls. You do that math.

I get three or four calls a day and I’m too busy to pick up. It’s probably not good.

Water heater leaking through the ceiling — shut the main off. Wants someone first thing. Real job, not a price shopper. Says 8 AM works.

ANSWEREDNOT VOICEMAIL

Every answered call becomes this — plus a text to your phone and a full recording. The agent asks what’s broken and how bad, notes when they’re free, and weeds out the tire kickers. It never touches your calendar: you call back, you decide, you book.

How it works · done for you

Three steps. You do roughly none of them.

  1. 01

We build it — on your accounts

A short intake by email, then we do the work. Most agents answer their first call within a week of your intake reply. The phone line, the minutes, the AI: every account opened in your name from day one. Nothing to install, nothing to learn. If you can forward a phone, you're set.

  2. 02

    It answers. Screens. Texts you.

Day, night, mid-job. It picks up as your business and says it's an AI in the first sentence. It takes the message, asks what's broken and how bad, and screens out robocalls and price-shopper loops. You get a text summary and the full recording, every call.

  3. 03

You own it. We hand you the keys.

At delivery you hold every login, the agent's complete build, and a plain-English redeploy doc. Your number stays yours. Anyone who asks for a person gets you — not a call center.

The one-time questions, answered first

Who pays what, after delivery.

Every 'lifetime deal' you've seen died on the same question: who pays for the minutes next year? Here, you do — at cost, on accounts you own. We charge for the build. The usage was never ours to sell.

The dime, itemized: phone carrier ≈ 1¢/min plus about $1.15/mo for the number · voice engine 8¢/min · AI model ≈ ½¢/min. Provider list prices as of July 2026, billed by them, to you. Our markup: none.

Rent vs. own

The subscription math, done honestly.

Nothing wrong with renting — until you add it up. Prices below were fetched July 2026, ours includes the usage you'd pay providers directly.

Ruby — human answering service

What you pay
$250/mo for 50 minutes
Two years in
$6,000+ and counting

Typical AI receptionist plan

What you pay
$49/mo advertised — published upgrade tiers run $165–299/mo once caps kick in
Two years in
≈ $4,000–7,200

Anvilcall

What you pay
$2,500 once + your own usage, ≈ $35–45/mo paid to providers
Two years in
≈ $3,500 — then usage only. $0 to us, forever

Two more data points from the rental side: capped plans bill by the minute once you pass the cap, and the platforms underneath reprice — Bland, a voice platform many of these subscriptions run on, raised per-minute prices 55% in December 2025. When you own the accounts, a repricing email is a line item. When you rent, it’s your new bill.

Your bill to us doesn’t grow when your business does. There is no bill to us.

Last, on purpose

A guarantee is a mechanism, not a badge.

You've seen the badge on pages that burned you. So here's the mechanism instead — dates, rails, and what you keep.

  1. 1.Email hello@anvilcall.com with the word refund, any time in your first 90 days. No claim form, no exit interview, no retention pitch.
  2. 2.We send the full $2,500 back through Stripe within 2 business days — the same rail you paid on.
  3. 3.You keep your phone number and every account. They were opened in your name — there’s nothing for us to take back.

The longest guarantee we’ve found anywhere else in this market is 30 days. Read the full mechanics— it’s one page, written to be held to.

Asked, answered, in writing

You're right to ask.

What happens on the 2 AM burst-pipe call?

The agent answers on the first ring, asks what's leaking and how bad, and texts you the summary right then. You look at one text and decide: get dressed, or call back at 7. If the caller asks for a person, it can transfer straight to your cell — whether that rings you at 2 AM is your setting, not ours.

Will my customers hang up on an AI?

Some will — the same ones who hang up on voicemail. That's the honest comparison, because the alternative to this agent isn't you answering; it's voicemail. 27% of home-services calls already go unanswered, and fewer than 3% of callers pushed to voicemail leave a message (Invoca, 2024). The agent says it's an AI in its first sentence — no tricks on your customers — and anyone who asks for a person gets you — a live transfer straight to your cell, or a text with the callback, your choice. Never a call center. Most callers just want to leave their problem with someone who answers.

Who pays for the minutes?

You do — at cost, on your own accounts, straight to the providers. About a dime a minute all-in, roughly a quarter per call; most small shops — five or six answered calls a day — land at $35–45 a month. We never touch that money and never mark it up. It's itemized on the spec plate above, line by line.

What if you disappear?

Your agent keeps answering. That's not a promise — it's the wiring. The phone number, the minutes, the AI: every account is opened in your name from day one. At delivery you also hold the agent's complete build — the prompts, the settings, a plain-English redeploy doc. If Anvilcall vanished tomorrow, nothing you bought goes with us.

Who fixes it in year two?

Nothing wears out. There's no server of ours to keep running and no code to rot: the agent is provider accounts in your name plus a configuration written down in black and white. If a provider changes something someday, that's a settings change on your own accounts — the redeploy doc covers it, step by step. And hello@anvilcall.com still answers after your 90 days are up — asking a question was never a subscription.

Is this another AI receptionist pitch?

You've probably been pitched three of these this week. Here's what's different — you own this one. Most of what hits your inbox is a reseller renting you the same software for $250–500 a month, on their account, with their markup on your minutes. We build yours once, on your accounts, hand you the keys, and have nothing left to bill you for.

Does it book jobs into my calendar?

No — on purpose. Software that books jobs sight-unseen double-books you and books junk. The agent takes the message, asks what's broken and how bad, notes when the caller is free, and texts it all to you. You call back, you quote, you book. Fifteen seconds of your judgment beats an algorithm guessing at your Tuesday.

How fast is it live?

Most agents answer their first call within a week of your reply to the intake email. The build is our work, not yours — the calendar mostly moves at the speed of your intake replies. And the 90-day guarantee clock starts the day the agent goes live on your number, never the day you paid.

Do I have to talk to a salesperson?

Never — unless you want one. Everything runs in writing: the exact quote comes by email, and your questions get answered by reply — by Robin, a real person, usually the same day. Writing isn't a dodge; it's a paper trail you can hold us to. And if you want to hear a voice, that's exactly what the demo line is — the product speaking for itself. Call it as many times as you want. We'll never make you book a call to see a price.

Are you a subscription in disguise?

No. $2,500 is the only money we ever take, through Stripe, once — no card on file, no auto-renew, nothing to cancel. The ongoing costs are the usage fees above, paid by you, directly to the providers, on accounts you control. If a 'one-time deal' ever burned you, that's exactly the trap this structure makes impossible: there's no plug we can pull and nothing we can repossess.

Something else on your mind? Write to hello@anvilcall.com — Robin answers, usually within a few hours.
